God has gifted Pakistan with precious fresh water resources and valuable fertile land. The country has the largest integrated irrigation network of around 66,000 km of canals and affiliated dams and barrages which underscores its dependence on agrarian economy.
Pakistan National Committee on Irrigation & Drainage (PANCID) acts as the liaison body for ICID activities in Pakistan by exchanging technical information with member countries and local experts in the field of irrigation, drainage and flood control. PANCID has successfully organized international and national conferences. It encourages submission of papers for presentation at ICID congresses, conferences, symposia and workshops.
